6 New Year Resolutions Which You cannot Miss

2013This is the best time of the year when You start thinking how you want the New year in your life to be better, whether it is on professional or personal level. You resolve to make changes and improve.
Some of the Resolutions, I feel are really important and want to share these with you.

1. Resolve to Clean Your Clutter

In your Personal as well for professional life, whether it is the closet or desk it has to be well-organized. Your to-do list, project list and notepad should be on your desk or your desktop at the most prominent place. If there is any financial clutter created because of Debt, Plan to free yourself from that clutter as well. Purge your waste and choose your diamonds.
Cecline Andrews has rightly pointed:

“Anyone who has ever cleaned out a closet and taken stuff to Goodwill knows how liberating it is.You feel lighter, your mind feels clearer.”

2. Resolve to give up one bad habit

You need to assess your habits, and try to figure the worst one which is affecting you the most and resolve to give up. This won’t only help you but everyone around you will become better.

3. Resolve to take extra care of your health and be Cheerful

It should be at the top of your mind, if you play around with your health, you will be the only one who will suffer the most. Whether it is Morning walk, Yoga or any other form of exercise, it has to be regularly done to improve your health. Your diet chart should be very clear about your daily food need.

Live up to the famous saying “Health is Wealth”.

4. Resolve to set your priorities right

Most of us really falter at this step and are unable to set the priorities right. Highest Priority should be set for Family and relatives to sustain the relationship. Every other thing comes after that.
Zig Ziglar has rightly quoted:

“People who have good relationships at home are more effective in the marketplace”

5. Resolve to Build Relationship

I really enjoy this and has followed this very diligently. Online relationship building can be started by commenting on bloggers post, though it is the baby step but it is really the great step to lay the foundation for long-term relationship.

6. Resolve to be Consistent

This is the last but very important Resolution. Whatever you have read above will be a meaningless resolution if not performed consistently.

Remember Anthony Robbins Quote:

“It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It’s what we do consistently.”

Now over to you:

What do you think, Have I missed something which is really Important. Share your thoughts in comments.

Thank you for reading this post.

Yes I agree that resolutions at times are not resolute enough and surely at times we falter. We all start with a bang and after few months, its business as usual.

We damn care about them. But if you start making a journal for these resolutions, set goals out of these. Start measuring them, make yourself accountable for those goals and start doing that CONSISTENTLY, You are bound to succeed.

My Best Wishes for all your endeavors.

      Thanks

  2. Nice ones! I don’t do New Years Resolutions anymore. Too much pressure to keep up with it. However, I do try and make a few changes in my life that are necessary. For some reason, saying it’s a resolution messes me up. If I pledge it to myself and say “Just for today……..” every day, it seems to work. :)

Thanks for that. Oh yes, there is no point in pressuring and then faltering. It is purely the way you love it and want to execute these resolutions or I may say so, pledges.

Yes the key you have mentioned is, daily basis which is the consistency, I really love this MAGIC word and really want to see how this MAGIC can affect everyone in 2013.

My Best of Wishes for you for the NEW YEAR.

Thanks for stopping by and adding value through your comments.

  3. I think giving up a bad habit (smoking and eating unhealthy, usually) are the most common.

Being consistent I like most. Definitely one of my resolutions for 2013! I believe we can’t be successful without being consistent in our actions. I want to make a habit out of jogging 3 mornings a week, followed up by an hour of writing.

I find these habits so liberating for the mind! I’ll make sure to have a detailed plan on exactly how I’ll manage to accomodate those two habits in my routine for the long run!

Thanks for the awesome ideas, Sapna! Keep up the good work, love your blog so far!

    • Hi Andrew

Welcome to my blog. You are right, giving up bad habits are most common statements, but giving up those are really very tough. Some of us are even not aware of their bad habits, so for them identifying them is the biggest challenge.

Consistency is the key to success and there is no doubt on that.Plan and make yourself accountable for those plannings. Most of us are very good in planning but does not fair well in execution.

Thanks for stopping by and adding value through your comments.

  4. These are great reminders Sapna for those that need it. I stopped doing New Year’s resolutions years ago. Why I mean… No one ever follows through.

If you truly want to change your life or your habits there’s no better time then right now. Why wait? You’ll just talk yourself out of them.

I know that for those who want to do things like lose weight or stop smoking use this as an excuse to really do it up big at the end of the year with the “intention” of giving it all up once the new year rolls around. They may do good for a short while and are back tracking as soon as possible.

You have to really want something bad enough to change and until you do you never will. Great list to begin with that’s for sure.

Good luck to you with any that you intend to change.

Oh Yes I totally agree with you. Very few people I have seen who really follow New Year Resolutions diligently. So sincerely this is a great reminder for them to buck up as it is their last chance to resolve for this year.

Many of the people I have seen who start with a bang but could not do that consistently, so for them if they are consistent, they will be through.

Your visit REALLY IS VERY important and your comments are really noteworthy.

  5. Hi Sapna,

That’s a great post about resolutions. I loved all of the 6 resolutions but I relate mostly to number 3, 5 and 6.

I don’t remember committing to my resolutions in the past or I should say I haven’t been consistent and as you said it is meaningless, if there is no consistency.

I will hold myself accountable for the year 2013 to follow resolution #3: lose some pounds which I gained since I started my online business as just sitting in front of the computer for long hours made me gain some extra pounds. Also resolution #5: to work on building more relationships online to learn and grow personally and to grow my business and I have to work on being as #6 suggests to be CONSISTENT as this is the name of the game.

Thanks a lot for these easy breakdown of resolutions which makes it easy to setup our resolutions. I wish you all success in the year 2013 and I hope all your dreams will come true.

Thanks again for sharing such a great post.

      Welcome to my Blog.

It’s just not you, We all at one time or other have faltered in keeping our resolutions, but at the end every year we all have something in our mind to improve in our personal or professional life.

We all need to discover the USP as you pointed in your post, take resolution to build on that USP and prepare the plan to execute it taking minutest of the detail into consideration, Making yourself accountable to your achievements and consistently work towards achieving that. This is really the key to success.

Thanks for stopping by and adding value through your comments.

  6. Hi Sapna,
One thing that i really which you mentioned here is HEALTH IS WEALTH. You, most of us always fail to realize this forgeting that if you ignore your health to make money, you woun’t live long to enjoy it thereby leaving it for people that never worked for it.

I also love the issue of building relationships, I can’t agree more. One more thing i will also include is Finding time for our creator…..GOD. That is really important.

Thanks for sharing Sapna, i can see you’ve really made your new year resolutions… Very nice.

    • Hi Theodore

Perfect, Health is wealth and many of us fails to understand this. We all are working very hard and if we don’t pay adequate attention to health, I think somebody else surely is going to enjoy the fruits of this hard work.

Yes building relationship is something very important and the most ignored fact in blogosphere. Many who will ignore will surely repent it. It is better to prepare and prevent rather then repair and repent.

Theodore, for our Creator we need a New year Resolution, I really won’t agree with you fully, as he has to remembered everyday, every minute. Isn’t?

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your very positive thoughts.

  9. Hi, Sapna,

yes, this is a lot of improve and change in life. I agree that physically cleaning the environment has a lot to do with the mind. I think how easy it is to read people, when you know how to interpret. We are all in plain sight, nothing hidden.
Then it is #4 – the priorities and relationships (mostly family). I am sure that many have this problem. What happens when your spouse and extended family do not want you to succeed? What happens when you work madly with nothing to show up for (until the breaking point is reached). How it can be a personal resolution, and it depends on another?
A lot ti think about. Thank you! (You are so lucky to have a supportive family :) )

I totally agree with you, at times family is not there to support us but still we resolve to be strong and overcome these obstacles.

True, even if we work very hard and has nothing to show, at least we won’t repent that we haven’t tried. Not everyone is successful but nothing wrong in resolving to achieve success with full vigor.

Thanks for stopping by and adding thought provoking comments.

  10. Hi Sapna,

    Nice list here :)

Cleaning clutters always matters for me, as I’m not like to work with ‘em mostly. Well, it takes time, but that’s how I used to. Just in time. It helps me be organized always :)

Relationships matters :) But need to do in right way with right people. Else eventually it’s just nothing but numbers and heartache for sure :)

Consistency is the key for most part dear. That’s very true :) And while on it, change need to be embraced.

    Cheers…

    • Hi Mayura

I am use to cleaning clutters, but JIT rules applies to me as well. It’s the deadlines which I have to meet and most of the times, it’s like most of the things everywhere. It’s better for me to improve on this front.

Relationship always work with right kind of people only, at times the wavelength issue surely crops up.I am very clear I won’t be carrying the baggage.

I fully subscribe to your point of embracing change. You die if you don’t adapt. Whether technological changes or situational changes, we need to embrace them gracefully, adapt and move on.

Punjabis are meant to think by heart only and therefore “DIL VADDA PUNJABIYAN DA”. We will surely loose our charm if we start analysing logically and analytically.

If you go by pragmatic approach surely brain is what we should start using, but surely will be loosing our Punjabi tag.
