Hey Kumar,
Wonderful indeed
Very nice Infographic and valid for everyone in any industry.
Nokia accused for over-sleeping and employees had to pay for it too. Mobile market is very dynamic and I amazed why Nokia didn’t thought of new ideas and consistency. Same goes for Apple where they think they are the best and fight with copyright and marketing their brand name instead of giving what their customers need. I love Apple products but it doesn’t mean I accept everything they do. They can make mistakes, but not without assessing the risk
Finally, no one can survive without satisfing needs of people.
Well, it’s not over and I think very good long-term strategy will save Nokia in the smartphone category. Industry iss not driven by the best, so always have the room for everyone. Windows platform is getting better now and I think Microsoft will help Nokia if they acheive success through it. It’s not nowhere near for Nokia as I see though
Everyone can do their best and let’s see how they will bloom with maximizing customer satisfaction
Happy 2013, Kumar and Sapna
Cheers…

Hi Mayura,
Glad you liked the infographics. You have been very correct in your saying – this infographic is applicable to the entire industry. Nokia really slept for too long, the similar thing happened with Blackberry as well and to certain extent Microsoft suffered the same fate when they kept boasting their Operating systems and Lost the market share in web based products.
Apple is driven by innovative products, they have been smart-movers and reaped the benefit for the same.
I’m a die hard fan of Microsoft and Nokia, but want to see Nokia’s revised long term strategy as well as the tactical plans. I am closely following them.
Thanks for your insightful thoughts and I really appreciate your efforts in writing your heart out.

Nice infograph Kumar.

Welcome back. Nokia was clearly outperformed in smartphone category and that’s the reason it cannot be compared to Samsung and Apple. It’s tough to make a comeback with both these companies becoming a force to reckon with.

Great post. I love the infographics and they are indeed valid for any type of business or industry.
I am not that updated about these technologies but I do remember that Nokia was taking the market by storm at some point and then all of a sudden, I started to hear about so many other brands in the market that overnamed Nokia and then I just lost track. But my opinion, if Nokia persisted to come back, it can and it may even come stronger. Everything is possible but only time will tell.
Thanks for the infographics and for the post which is thought provoking.

Nokia use to be the market Leader in dumb phones and was leading the pack in Europe and in Asian markets as well.
Nokia lost the momentum when the transitioning took place from Dump phones to Smart phones. The last Model which really rocked was N95 Series and Some N Series phones.
It had to set its house in order if it ever wanted to compete in smartphones category, a long overhauling of its strategies is the name of the game for Nokia.

Hi Kumar & Sapna,
What a great message there! In my view, when someone is complacent, he or she is 99% a loser. Why? The world is changing. And changing FAST.
For example, what means ‘job security’ decades ago may not be the best path for our adult children now. What about the future? Can a corporate high pay position guarantee us a decent retirement lifestyle?
REALITY Check is important. Personally, I have seen enough real life stories to understand that more than one source of family income is crucial. Nokia will probably not be able to have a great come back. What about our own lives. Do we have to screw it before we start thinking about come back strategies?

Your infographic is a great reminder on the importance of continuous innovative in business. Without listening to the audience, you may be singing to a deaf crowd.
I have also learned from the informal DIY nature of your infographics that an infographic can succeed even though it is not outsourced to a design company.
In fact, I am sure we would not enjoy these graphics as much if they were polished and and custom made.

Hmmm, a lot to think about here. First things first, India too has a great number of mobile users, so India can definitely turn Nokia’s balance sheet around. Let’s see. Nokia has launched several Windows phones for as low as 10k (not sure), in the same range as that of ‘good’ android smartphones and nowhere near apple iphones.
Personally, I dislike apple (though Steve Jobs is a great inspiration). So if someones is looking to buy a quality phone, their budget would get them a Windows or Android smartphone.
Samsung has run it’s course, several other brands like HTC and particularly Micromax and Spice are popping. Though I’m left wondering why Motorola phones are ignored, seriously they are the best in the market.
With apple also slapping a huge compensation on Samsung, Samsung’s reputation has certainly gone down and this is the best chance for Nokia to hit the ground running and no wonder we’re seeing so many ads of Nokia Smartphones. The giants have certainly woken up, only time will tell what’s gonna happen.
Plus Windows 8 being common for desktop and phone is a massive feature and can play to Nokia’s advantage.
Great post, food for thought. Nice

The moral of the story is simple. The train of advanced technology is traveling with the speed of light. Of Nokia wants to catch the train, it is ok. If not, it is still ok. Someone else will replace it.
The same with internet. many people, especially elderly, do not like neither accept internet. It is fine. The train is leaving. The question is: Are you in?

Nokia used to make good phone in the early age and nokia 1100 is the best selling phone in the world no doubt. But one should remember the change. We must change ourselves according to the time .
